Library Stats: There are more libraries in the United States of America than on the whole continent of Africa.
9-Year old Founder of Heroes & Heart and creator of the Library Project, Justyn Boumah and his crew of 6, will travel to George, South Africa on September 16 to create his 4th Library for the children of George.
Can you imagine your world without libraries? Well, the second largest continent in our world, Africa, has fewer libraries than the whole country of USA! Some kids have never walked into a library, or don’t even know libraries exist because there are no libraries within their community. The Learning Is Fun Libraries Project is a literacy-based global initiative. Across the world, there are more than 617 million children who are not achieving a basic level of education (Unesco 2017). The Learning is Fun Libraries Project looks to close the achievement gap and nurture a culture of reading by getting much needed reading materials in the hands of kids around the world.
In Fall 2022, the Learning Is Fun Libraries Project created its second Learn & Play Space aka a Justyn Boumah Library in Warsaw, Poland for Ukrainian Refugees. Heroes and Heart raised thousands of dollars through the “CHANGE” world campaign. We collected pennies, nickels, dimes and even ripped dollars from little kids, teens and adults, #kidshelpingkids!
Opening libraries on the continent of Africa is the first step towards ending illiteracy worldwide and creating access to books. Justyn Boumah Libraries are at the forefront of this effort. From a child at a local orphanage to children at an English Learning Center in need of books in English along with a play space, this project has seen lives transformed.
Founded by young visionary Justyn Boumah, our mission is to educate and inspire, building a brighter future one child at a time.
